This time of year, rain can fall, snow can fall, and rocks can fall. In this week’s Weather Wise; springtime in the Rockies means watch for falling rock.

A large rockfall occurred several days ago on Highway 2 near West Glacier closing the road. On Monday in the Bearmouth area, the Frontage Road along Interstate 90 was closed because of a rock slide.

Rock slides are virtually unpredictable, but drivers should be alert while driving near steep slopes this time of year and in heavy rain.
