MARION – A memorial service to remember the life of a Marion firefighter who recently died in a freak accident will be held this weekend.

Tiffany Hamdan, who was with the department for four years, died after she was attempting to free a vehicle after it got stuck in the snow on March 17 near Yaak.

The memorial service will be held at the Marion Fire Department beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Traffic and parking are expected to be an issue for Saturday’s memorial. People are asked to use Pleasant Valley Road and avoid Gopher Lane from U.S. Highway 2.

If the fire station and school parking lots fill up, the department will be using the Baptist Church parking lot off Pleasant Valley as overflow and running a shuttle van.

Anyone who wants to help with preparations for the memorial are asked to stop by the fire station between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.

“Thank you to everyone for your love and support through this difficult time. We are so grateful for every kind word and offer to help. We continue to have Tiffany’s family in our thoughts and prayers through this time,” Marion fire officials stated in a social post.
