HELENA- City Manager Ana Cortez confirmed to MTN that Fire Chief Mark Emert resigned his position Friday.
According to the city’s website, Emert had been chief since January 2016.
Cortez says Deputy Chief Ken Wood will serve as Interim Chief. Cortez says Assistant Chief Mke Chambers will also be assisting with duties until Wood returns from time off.
In an email, Cortez says the change is sudden and, ” We wish him the best as his excellent professional path continues.”
