MISSOULA – A man is behind bars after leading police in Missoula on a pursuit early Tuesday.

Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh says Damien Spatoro, 18, was taken into custody shortly before 4:30 a.m.

A vehicle that was reported stolen a couple of hours from the 2200 block of South Higgins Avenue was spotted by an officer at the intersection of Higgins and West Broadway at about 4:16 a.m.

Sgt. Welsh says that Spatoro failed to stop for police and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle stopped at a dead-end in the 800 block of Roosevelt where Spatoro was arrested.

While reports from Tuesday’s incident have not yet completed, Sgt. Welsh says Spatoro is being held on several charges including outstanding warrants that are not related to the incident.
