Update 3 p.m. Police say there is no threat to public safety. The man was transported to a local hospital.
BILLINGS- Police are investigating the shooting of a man in the leg in downtown Billings Tuesday afternoon.
Lt. Mark Cady said the 23-year-old man was shot near U.S. Bank at 303 N. Broadway by an unknown person shortly around 2:15 p.m.
He then ran to the corner of North 27th Street and Second Avenue North and attempted to apply a tourniquet, Cady said. A passerby called police.
Police are reviewing surveillance video to determine what happened, Cady said. The man’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
