GREAT FALLS — The Great Falls Public Library celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a special Cat in the Hat event.
Children were able to enjoy birthday treats, and they made their own Cat in the Hat head ware.
The library also kicked off their Battle of the Books, to help encourage Cascade County youth to read.
The works of literature included in the Battle of the Books are: Oh, the Places You’ll Go!; One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish; Wacky Wednesday; and Horton Hears A Who!; all by Dr. Seuss.
Then there is Dragons Love Tacos, by Adam Rubin; The Rainbow Fish, by Marcus Pfister; The Day the Crayons Quit, by Drew Daywalt; and The Giving Tree; by Shel Silverstein.
The Battle of the Books pits each of these novels against each other. For the first round of voting, there are paper ballots at the library or the Cascade City-County Health Department.
The second round will have ballots and you can vote on both the Great Falls Public Library and Cascade City-County Heath Department Facebook page.
