BOZEMAN – The decision of the new high school name now opens up another discussion: what will be Bozeman’s new high school’s mascot?
Superintendent Rob Watson says the committee and the Bozeman School District are soliciting ideas from the community, as well as students.
He also added that it might seem like a simple decision, but the school’s identity is important to figure out early on for multiple reasons.
He says the board wants to also find a name that everyone agrees with, moving forward, and this will be a careful decision to ensure that current students and future generations will be proud of the mascot.
“That will be a consideration for the committee and for the board when we get to that point, trying to choose a mascot that hopefully, we won’t have to change because of that,” said Watson.
The school district is taking recommendations from the public on the mascot and colors through Friday, March 8.
