BOZEMAN – International recording and Emmy award-winning composer Mark Wood has come all the way from New York to work with Sacajawea Middle School orchestra students.

The students are putting on a rock concert Wednesday evening at the Willson Auditorium, and Wood is helping them prepare for the big performance.

Wood travels the country to work with young musicians. He emphasizes how important music is as a part of the student’s educational experience.

“And for a teenager, a young musician, a young person to find themselves early in their lives through music, we win,” Wood said.

At the concert Wednesday evening, Wood is auctioning off an instrument he made; all proceeds will go back to the school. Tickets are $10 and available at the Bozeman Schools Fine Arts Office, Sacajawea Middle School, or Eckroth Music. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Willson Auditorium.
