HELENA – For two weeks, West Mont Flower and Trading Company has been preparing for the influx of orders that inevitably come around Valentine’s Day.

West Mont Program Director Robin Farrell said the holiday is easily the shop’s busiest time of the year with Mother’s Day coming in second place.

The flower shop said orders this year have been on par with previous years. Seven drivers will start delivering orders first thing Thursday morning, aided by many other staff working in the store.

Mixed bouquets, tulips and lilies are always popular, but Farrell said it’s the roses that everyone wants.

“We spent a lot of time the last few days cleaning, dethorning and defoliating roses… that’s been a big priority for us,” Farrell said.

The company brought in over 6,000 roses for the holiday and expects to deliver 150 orders Thursday.

Farrell also encourages people to buy local this Valentine’s Day, rather than calling a flower hotline.

You can view the flowers and place orders on the flower shop’s website.
