Weather Wise: Car survival tips

HELENA – This is a hypothetical situation in very real weather.  In this week’s Weather Wise, Meteorologist Curtis Grevenitz simulates a situation where he’s driven off the road in the current, harsh winter conditions.

It is very important – at times you need to come outside and make sure the tailpipe is clear of snow and ice, so carbon monoxide doesn’t build up in the car. The most important thing is to stay with the vehicle. Don’t try to brave the elements. Conserve fuel, battery life, and your energy. This is the best way for you to survive if you were to slide off the road in these weather conditions.
