HELENA – A break in a water main has disrupted the flow of traffic on North Montana Avenue and impacted nearby businesses.

The rupture happened around 4:40 p.m. on Monday February 4 at the Missoula Avenue intersection.

Water flooded the street and nearby building causing the partial closure of N. Montana Ave. and Missoula Ave.

City crews were working on repairing the damaged pipe on Tuesday, but cold temperatures were causing ice to quickly form which made work conditions very difficult.

Crews hoped to have the repairs finished by the end of the day on February 5.

City officials say the cause of the break has yet to be determined.
