Volunteers still sought for Bitterroot Winter Special Olympics

Posted

There’s at least one group we know of that’s excited about all the new snow of the past few days.

That’s because they’re ready to play and perform epic athletic feats at Lost Trail Powder Mountain which will be hosting the Bitterroot Winter Special Olympics beginning Tuesday.

Special Olympics from all over west-central Montana will be busing up to the resort to compete in everything from downhill skiing to the amazing snowshoe races — and you can be involved as well.

Organizers are looking for volunteer help, which is a key part of the two-day event. Activities start at 9 a.m, each day and anyone who can help out is asked to contact Carla Christofferson at (406) 363-3028.

There’s special importance on the Lost Trail event this year because, with no state games scheduled, this is a chance for the athletes to qualify for national competition.
