BUTTE – A Butte club of quilters is seeking volunteers to make quilts for retired veterans.

Quilters from around Southwest Montana are asked to help make patriotic themed quilts for the Patriotic Quilt Show that will be held in Butte this summer. All the quilts will be given to residents of the Southwest Montana Veterans Home that is expected to open in Butte in 2020. People interested can sign up at any quilt show in the region.

“They should be patriotic quilts and only small ones about 50 X 50 or 60 X 60 and these will be used for little lap quilts when they watching T.V.,” said event organizer Miriam Haley.

The quilt show will be June 16th at Stodden Park. Organizers are hoping to get 75 quilts to give to the veterans.
