Former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke has a new job with an investment firm that focuses on energy and financial technology industries.

The former Montana congressman resigned his cabinet seat in late December amid accusations that he violated ethics rules, accusations that he denies.

On Monday, the investment firm, Artillery One, announced Zinke would become its new managing director.

Artillery One CEO Daniel Cannon cited Zinke’s experience and understanding of the workings of business and government as keys to helping the firm expand its consulting and finance business in the core areas of cybersecurity, energy, financial technology, and digital currency.

According to ThinkProgress.org, Artillery One has virtually no online presence,

A Facebook and Twitter account does exist for the company, but its website appears to no longer work.

In its mission statement, Artillery One says it “advises and funds the next generation of disruptive technologies – connecting capital to these unique opportunities and special situations.”

Artillery One says the former Montana congressman will be based in Montana and California – his wife Lola’s home state- but also will travel extensively.

Zinke served as Interior secretary from 2017 to 2018. The Whitefish native was appointed just after he was elected to his second term in Congress from Montana, and he previously served in the state Legislature.
