HELENA – The Helena Building Industry Association (HBIA) named Toni lake, a local mortgage lender, as their 2018 charitable recipient.
HBIA presented Lake with a $15,198 check on Thursday December 27 at their office location.
For decades HBIA has presented the proceeds from their annual charitable auction to a deserving member of the community or family in need.
Lake was diagnosed with breast cancer in February 2018 and has gone through several rounds of chemo treatment.
HBIA Executive Officer Donna Durckel said the organization is proud to continue to support the community and help someone who is truly worthy.
“It’s the essence of the season,” said Durckel, “There’s so much love and so much giving within our membership and within the community of Helena. So to be able to be apart of this is really truly special.”
Lake will use the money to help pay for her cancer treatments.
HBIA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of home building in the Helena area. The organization works to raise the standards of the building industry through education and civic involvement for the betterment and positive growth of our community and industry.
