GREAT FALLS – This holiday season 22 local nonprofits will benefit from a significant donation.
Scheels announced they will be divvying up more than $64,000 in donations.
Scheels employees raised $57,000 and challenged local businesses to donate. Those businesses that donated, Scheels then matched their donations.
Guy Tabacco Construction, Ferrin’s Furniture and Pacific Steel raised $5,350 in donations.
United way of Cascade County will be the biggest benefactor, receiving $35,516 for their annual campaign.
Scheels store leader Peter Philippi says today was about bringing business leaders and charitable organizations together who all have the same goal.
“Just funding the problem won’t fix the problem in the community, or an issue or a need. It takes people doing the work, coming together working on that project to really answer that call that need. It can’t just be money. It has to be about coming together and working together on those projects,” Philippi said.

- Great Falls Children’s Museum
- Great Falls Children’s Receiving Home
- Great Falls Optimist Club
- Great Falls Youth Orchestra
- Heisey Youth Center
- I Love This Life Foundation
- Meals on Wheels
- Montana Vet Program
- Neighbor/Student in Need
- NeighborWorks
- Parent Teacher Associations
- Salvation Army
- Samaritan’s Purse
- Shop with a Cop
- Special Olympics
- St. Jude Hospital
- St. Vincent de Paul
- United Way
- YWCA
“We’re bringing together a bunch of business leaders as well as charitable organizations in Great Falls to try and accomplish great work and to do that were trying to form a community of giving to really answer the call of need in the community,” Philippi said.
