HELENA-Lewis and Clark Co. Coroner Bryan Backeberg released the names of the man and woman who died in a suspected murder-suicide Tuesday evening.

According to police, Russell Roman, 37, went to a birthday party at a home at 1101 Hauser Blvd. on Tuesday evening, brandished a gun and ordered everyone out of the home.

Investigators say Roman followed his estranged wife, Rebekah White-Roman, 37, outside and fatally shot her in the front yard before the turning the gun on himself.

The Helena Police Department is investigating.

Chief Troy McGee told MTN on Wednesday that they are looking into whether there was a history of domestic violence or protection orders involving this family. They are also looking to speak to more witnesses.

A fundraiser has been set up to support the Roman’s three children. You can find it here:  GoFundMe.
