HELENA – The prancing of little feet and laughter of children echoed through the Lewis and Clark Library on Saturday, December 15 for a special holiday story time.
The message of today’s story time was kindness and being kind to others, which Children Services Librarian Marissa Bazan said is the core of the holiday spirit.
Bazan is always happy to see so many people turn out for youth events and hopes it fosters reading and builds a sense of community for those that attend.
“The library has become such a community hub and that’s a wonderful way to spend time with people you don’t know yet, make new friends here, spend time with people you do know, spend time with your family and bond over a good story really fosters that love of reading as well,” said Bazan.
Families also made paper wreaths and gingerbread dolls together and were given a few craft projects to take home.
Nick Jaynes brought his family to Saturday’s event and said it’s great that the library offers such great family-friendly events.
“I think it’s wonderful to have this available to the kids,” said Jaynes, “We came from a smaller town where this sort of thing wasn’t available so this is great for us to have.”
Library staff would also like to remind people this holiday season that many library services are available at any time through their online apps.
People can download books, listen to music, watch movies and more, all they need is their library card, password and internet access.
