MISSOULA – Hundred of kids dealing with the court system have a voice thanks to the thousands of hours put in by volunteers with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

A local sorority has made it their mission to help this organization nationwide.

The Alpha Nu chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta hosted an event Sunday morning for folks to come and build gingerbread casas, or gingerbread homes, for CASA.

In addition to raising money to donate to the cause, the women made it their focus to raise awareness of the events that CASA of Missoula will be hosting in the near future.

One of those events is the 25th Anniversary Light of Hope Gala.

“People who have come to our event today I think sharing about CASA, sharing about their mission and sharing about ways that they can be involved is something that was definitely important to us with this event, so that event coming up soon is definitely something we would encourage everyone to go and check out,” said the sorority’s Mo Shea.

The Light of Hope Gala will be on Friday, February 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Click here for more information.
