MISSOULA – Months of anticipation were rewarded for four families Tuesday as they officially welcomed new members to their family.

The annual Missoula Adoption Ceremony was held at the Missoula Children’s Theater and the room was full of excitement and joyous tears.

Each family has their own special story on how this day came to be.

“We got a surprise call from Child Family Services almost two years ago. We went to meet Jadyn and decided that she’s a great fit, just knew instantly that she would fit with our crew,” said adopting parent Sarah Turbitt.

Jadyn joined a family that includes a set of twins, previously adopted by the Turbitt’s. The ceremony included a proclamation by Missoula Mayor John Engen and an oath administered by Judge John Larson.

The children and their new parents were ready for this new chapter in their lives.

“It’s just a huge blessing to have Jadyn in our lives, and I think it’s very exciting for Jadyn and the rest of us to just know that she’s a part of our family forever.”

November is National Adoption Awareness Month.

MTN’s Jill Valley emceed the event.
