HELENA – Helena High School’s welding club is holding its annual used cell phone drive with the hope of helping servicemen and servicewomen stay in contact with their loved ones.

The cell phone drive has taken place for the past eight years.

Around the holidays, the welding club asks for donations of used, unwanted cell phones you might have floating around in your junk drawer.

You are asked to erase the data and drop the phones off at the school.

They will be donated and used to buy phone cards for those serving in our Armed Forces.

“We provide those cards for those soldiers, you’re helping, you’re providing that assistance and it’s a great thing, a great feeling to have,” Jack Strong, a welding club member, said.

The welding club will collect the phones through January 31.

Helena High School is located at 1300 Billings Avenue.

We are collecting old cell phones for Cell Phones for Soldiers Inc. Please bring in your old cell phones to be recycled…
