GREAT FALLS – Ten kids were officially adopted into their forever homes today at the Cascade County Courthouse for Great Falls Adoption Day.
Judge Pinski’s courthouse was packed with eager family and friends awaiting to see that special moment where the judge makes an adoption official.
Pinski said it was a great day and a wonderful way to start off the Thanksgiving Holiday. He said, “I can’t think of anything to be more thankful for here today than the gift that you’re giving to these children. You’re giving them love, you’re giving them a family and most importantly you’re restoring hope to these children’s lives.”
Kids got to pick up a brand new stuffed animal, a football and for the older kids a gift card to celebrate the occasion.
Kira Abbott was officially adopted by her grandparents, Bob and Cindy Abbott. Kira said she is gaining new siblings, “So happy. Yeah. Because we have so many dogs.”
Bob said it has finally come to determination that Kira can live with them forever. He said, “I mean she’s my granddaughter and she’s made me happy for ever since she was born. This is a good day.”
Bob always went on to say what that the system that’s in place for protecting these kids is phenomenal. He added, “The people we’ve dealt with through the whole course of this process has been amazing. I’m just very happy it’s come to a resolution and now we can just move forward.”
November every year is recognized as Adoption Awareness Month, with the particular focus of this month being the adoption of children currently in foster care.
