HELENA – Local businesses are celebrating entrepreneurship as a new program helps Helena startups.
Thursday night was the culmination of the Montana Business Assistance Connection’s “Accelerated Startups” program for three Helena small businesses.
Caffeic Coffee Roasters, Spy High Mounts and Montana Bones made up the first class to graduate the six-month program.
At Thursday’s Demo Night, the companies presented their products at the Holter Museum of Art.
The Montana Business Assistance Connection says “Accelerated Startups” to support new and local companies with resources, accountability and mentor-ship.
Scott and Rayna Bouma, the owners of Caffeic, say the program helped them define their customers with helpful speakers and monthly meetings.
“Really identifying who our customers were, our personas, that was huge for me,” said Rayna. “Another thing that was a big part of it was that accountability. Setting goals and having to report every week, how we did with those goals, that was really helpful for me.”
Dozens of people attended the demo night, including Mayor Wilmot Collins.
