MISSOULA – A suspect in the double murder at a Missoula motel last month entered his plea in court Tuesday.

18-year-old Preston Rossbach pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony homicide Tuesday morning in Missoula District Court.

The charges stem from an incident at the Mountain Valley Inn on Oct. 18.

Court documents say that Rossbach, along with Jon Whitworth and LaBenza Charlo, when to the Mountain Valley Inn on the night of the 18 in search of drugs. The three went to room 228 and were told that there weren’t any drugs in the room.

The three left the room, but returned moments later.

Rossbach told police that at that point, Whitworth shot and killed 23-year-old Jason Flink and 31-year-old Megan McLaughlin.

A third person was injured and transported to the hospital.

Whitworth is facing the same charges as Rossbach, and Charlo is also facing charges for attempting to purchase illegal drugs.
