Former Dillon city judge sentenced for theft in office

DILLON – A former Dillon city judge was sentenced Wednesday for theft while in office.
Court officials say Crystal Mae Thompson was sentenced in Dillon to seven years with the Department of Corrections with five years suspended from that sentence.
She pleaded guilty earlier this year to felony theft for stealing more than $30,000 while serving as city judge before resigning in 2017.
Thompson was in charge of cash payments from fines.
She has been ordered to pay $34,000 in restitution.
