HELENA – Strong voter turnout was the story across the state, including right here in Helena, and Lewis and Clark County.
When the polls closed Tuesday evening, around 40 people were still in line waiting to vote at the Lewis and Clark County Elections office.
Both Helena and East Helena election judges said they saw a good turnout at the polls today.
The volunteers judging the election said they were surprised to see as many people, given the amount of absentee votes that were already turned in for their precincts.
The elections office said they even had what might be a first for them. Three Helena sisters, triplets, and Helena high school seniors registering and voting in their first election.
