MISSOULA – Charges have been filed against the third person involved in a double homicide at a Missoula motel last month.

Prosecutors have charged LaBenza Charlo with a felony count of attempted criminal possession of dangerous drugs/opiate.

In court documents, prosecutors say on October 18, Charlo, 18, went to a motel on 400 block of West Broadway to purchase heroin from Raven LaMere who was staying at the motel.

Surveillance footage from the Mountain Valley Inn shows the defendant matching the description outside the motel room.

At the same time, LaMere received a Facebook message from Charlo stating “Wya I’m here.”

LaMere also told police she missed two Facebook calls from Charlo. LaMere told police she had heroin she was going to sell to the defendant.

The defendant is later seen returning to the motel room with two men — Preston Rossbach and Jonathan Whitworth. The three entered LaMere’s room. Three people in the room were shot, two fatally.

Rossbach and Whitworth have both been charged with the murders of Jason Flink and Megan McLaughlin.

Charlo is slated to make her first court appearance Friday afternoon in Missoula Justice Court. She remains detained in the Missoula County Detention Center.
