HELENA – Grandstreet Theatre is holding a fundraiser to coincide with their winter show Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory by selling candy bars; some of which contain golden tickets.
“Grandy Bars” went on sale Friday October 12 for $3 with all proceeds benefiting local theatre performances and education.
The candy bars will be available at Grandstreet, Bert and Ernie’s, Sage and Oates and The Hawthorn Bottle Shop and Tasting Room.
4 of the candy bars will contain golden tickets and those that find them will receive a VIP experience for themselves and a friend to see the musical which includes free dinner, a limo ride, the red carpet treatment and more.
Director of Education Marianne Adams said the winter show really has become a tradition in the community and everyone at Grandstreet is very thankful for the continued community support.
“Arts keeps a community alive,” said Adams, “It just is so important, and it inspires creative thinking, and what a great outlet, especially for kids.”
Adams encourages people to reserve their tickets early for Willy Wonka, which runs November 30 through December 16.
Willy Wonka features the songs from the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has a 135 person cast.
Grandstreet’s next show will be Treasure Island which opens Friday October 19.
Treasure Island’s playbill promises a darkly comic, swashbuckling adventure for all ages.
Since 1976 Grandstreet Theatre has provided the Helena area with live theatre and theatre education.
