HELENA – If you noticed smoke in the hills northeast of Helena today, don’t worry. There is no need to be alarmed.
According to the Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest, conditions were right to conduct a prescribed burn.
The burn is along Jimtown Road and covers about 150 acres.
Crews also conducted a smaller, 15 acre, prescribed burn in the Lincoln ranger district.
Drivers on Highway 200 in the area of the burn as asked to use caution.
