BILLINGS – A five year old boy with cancer will go to Walt Disney World with his family thanks to the Montana Hope Project.

Alex Pickering, 5, and his family received the gift at Ra Ra’s Pizzeria and Sandwiches on Highway 312, outside Billings.

Pickering, who turns 6 in November, has Hodgkins Lymphoma.

The Pickering family is the 472nd for the Montana Hope Project and 10th this year

“It’s just helping us,” said Evi Pickering, Alex’s mother. “We’re lucky to have people that help us and supporting us. It’s important for us.”

“For the kids and everything, it is such a big deal to be able do something to kind of make this also a really big memory in a happy positive way,” said Ian Pickering, Alex’s father.

“My families that pulled in here, the first thing the kids do is come over and give me a hug,” said Dave Evans, Montana Hope Project eastern Montana coordinator. “You can’t buy that. it’s one of those things that it’s just there. and that’s why I consider them all part of my family and vice versa which is really good.”

The car show, Ra Ra’s Show and Shine, also raised money for the Montana Hope Project.
