LIBBY – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued pre-evacuation notices for residents in the Noisy Creek/Pipe Creek area near the Gold Hill Fire.

Pre-evacuation notices are being issued for 12 properties on Creekside Road and Pipe Creek Road from mile marker 11 to mile marker 13. A Code Red message was also sent out Monday afternoon.

The blaze has burned 930 acres in the backcountry north of Noisy Creek south of Gold Hill. Fire managers say the fire has spread and has established itself in the lower portions of Noisy Creek. That movement prompted the pre-evacuation notices.

The Libby animal shelter is available for residents in the Code Red area. More information about the situation can be found by calling (406) 293-6295.
