BOZEMAN – The Shodair Hospital gathered in Bozeman Wednesday to celebrate their 2018 Children’s Miracle Network Hero.

17-year-old Kathryn Ross from Gardiner was diagnosed a year ago with a rare genetic disease. Rather than letting it bring her down, she has made it into a learning opportunity. Kathryn has learned from her doctors, but much more of her education on the disease came from something else.

“Actually I have learned most of it from science classes. I took genetics in 9th grade as well as anatomy and physiology. Then there are biology classes and so on,” said Ross.

Kathryn was honored today and will be serving as the hospital’s hero for a full year. She will advocate and educate others about the rare disease she faces.
