GREAT FALLS- Law enforcement officers were involved in a high-speed chase in Great Falls on Saturday evening.

MTN began receiving reports of the chase just before 7:30 p.m. when someone sent us this message: “Sheriffs pursuing a vehicle that was headed the wrong way on the interstate. Now they are headed down 10th.”

A few minutes later, we received this message: “900 8th Ave NW is a speed chase in a black bronco type thing – 2 MHPs are chasing and they are driving reckless”

Next message: “High speed chase on sw side of town it went through the park it’s a black older bronco truck with top off”

A few minutes later, Dakota Baxter shared video with MTN on Facebook, which shows the suspect vehicle speeding across the grass at Rhodes Park, which is located along Central Avenue West between 8th Street and 9th Street.

Several people commented that the driver came very close to hitting children.

The Montana Highway Patrol told MTN that the chase began after the driver was pulled over for having license plates that were reported stolen.
