HELENA – Lewis and Clark Co.Disaster and Emergency Services said Wednesday that bottled water is now available for residents who lost water service due to flooding.
The bottled water is available at the sandbag station at the Lewis and Clark Fairgrounds or the Salvation Army.
In a Facebook post, DES officials also said if someone is unable to travel they can call the Salvation Army at 442-8244.
The post also says that the Helena YMCA on N. Last Chance Gulch is making its shower facilities available to people who lost water.
Volunteer groups that want to help with sandbagging or other flood related support should contact the Salvation Army to better coordinate efforts.
DES also warned of potential electrical hazards associated with flooding. If a home’s electrical system was damaged by flooding, it needs to be checked out by an electrician before power is restored.
Anyone planning to dig a ditch or culvert to divert water should call utility location services at 8-1-1 before digging.
