GREAT FALLS – A fundraising event Thursday night had community leaders take a dip with the famous mermaids of the Sip N Dip Lounge.
The “Splash for Cash” event sponsored by Leadership Great Falls raised around $3,500 for the Grace Home to benefit homeless veterans.
People voted, both ahead of time and at the event, by donating money towards one of six participants including Great Falls Mayor Bob Kelly, Superintendent Tammy Lacey, Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce President Shane Etzwiler, Great Falls Fire Rescue Chief Steve Hester, Great Falls Police Department Chief Dave Bowen, and KRTV’s Shannon Newth.
Four ended up swimming with the mermaids, including Mayor Kelly, Chief Hester, Chief Bowen, and Shannon.
The Sip N Dip also created signature drinks named after each participant, including “The Broadcaster,” “The Thin Blue Line,” “The Educator,” “The CEO,” “The Politician,” and “Inferno Fireball.”
The Grace Home is located at 2211 5th Avenue North.
