UPDATE – Authorities on Tuesday released the name of the 16-year-year-old girl killed in a crash near Wilsall.

WILSALL – A teenager is dead after crashing her car near Wilsall late Monday afternoon.

The Montana Highway Patrol said the 16-year-old teen died when she rolled her car and was thrown from the vehicle. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Troopers say the teen veered off the right side of the road and onto the shoulder. She then over-corrected and swerved first to the left then to the right and back to the left side of the highway before spinning and rolling down a ravine.

The crash happened north of Wilsall on Highway 89, just south of the intersection with 86.

There were no passengers in the vehicle and no other vehicles were involved. The name of the victim has not yet been released.
