Helena students help draft bill on gun safety

House Bill 477 would create a new criminal offense of “leaving a firearm accessible to a child.” A person could be fined up to $1,000 if they left a gun unsecured, a child got it and fired it, and it caused death or serious injury to the child or another person.

Crowds gather in Helena for Last Chance Skijoring races

The event was initially scheduled for Jan. 5 and 6, but there wasn’t enough snow in Helena at that time, so it was postponed. Organizers announced several weeks later that they would be able to reschedule it for this weekend.

New citizens naturalized at ceremony in Billings

BILLINGS – Twenty-nine people from 18 countries were welcomed into America at a naturalization ceremony in Billings Thursday. Naturalization is the process by which U.S. citizenship is given to a foreign citizen.
