3-year-old Pup Gets New Lease on Life After Years of Breeding

Posted

HELENA – Meet Sapphire, an energetic pit bull mix who can’t wait to find a place to call home.  She was part of a breeding operation before she was brought in to the humane society, and fortunately she has suffered no health complications.  Now, this gal has adjusted to shelter life quite well, and loves to play any chance she gets.

Sapphire has a high energy level, so she would really thrive in a home where she gets lots of stimulation and enrichment.  She loves playing with rope toys, and would be a fantastic hiking partner.

Dog program coordinator Rebecca Howard said, “what we’re looking for her, is a home environment just as quick as possible where she can start living her actual life.” She spent the first few years of her life having puppies, and now she’s ready to get out and enjoy herself!

If you’d like to meet Sapphire, you can visit her at the Lewis and Clark Humane Society.

They are open from 12-6 on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 12-4:30 on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
