HELENA – Lebowski is a two-year-old dog with lots of energy. If you see him in his kennel, he might seem overwhelmingly energetic, but once he’s outside the kennel, he quickly calms down. Being in the shelter has been tough on Lebowski, since it’s a stressful place for dogs. Some animals can handle it better than others, but Lebowski has not been a huge fan of the environment.
Since his arrival, staff have been working with him to improve his skills playing with other dogs. He could possibly go in a home with other dogs, but cats and little kids might not appreciate that he plays slightly rough.
Once he gets home, staff speculate that he will calm down. He will still be an active dog (and a great hiking partner!) but not nearly as wound-up as he is in the kennel.
If Lebowski catches your eye, ask to meet him outside of the kennel! It’s the best way to get to know his true personality.
