Pet of the Week: Willie

Posted
and last updated

Meet Willie! He’s an adorable, affectionate pup who would do great in almost any home.  He gets along great with other dogs and people of all ages, but is not a huge fan of cats.

Willie is an adult dog- 10 years old, to be exact- but don’t let that fool you!  He is still an active, happy pup.  Willie is also pretty resilient.  He came in to the shelter missing his left eye, but that doesn’t slow him down at all!

Rebecca Howard, the dog program coordinator at the Humane Society, says that while puppies tend to be more popular, older dogs can still be just as great of an addition to your home.

“Getting an older dog means you’ll get to spend time with them,” Howard said, “but less time doesn’t necessarily mean less love.”

You can get to know Willie at the Lewis and Clark Humane Society from 12-6 on Tuesdays and Fridays, and from 12-4:30 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
