HELENA — In honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the Lewis and Clark Library is challenging people to do their part in helping the environment.
The library has been holding their “beanstack” challenge that allows families or individuals to earn badges through their reading.
They've tweaked the system a bit this week to include badges for achievements like: switching over to led lightbulbs, using reusable cloth rags, moving to digital billing and going for a bike ride.
The library says with social distancing, now can be a great time to take for people to take a look at their home and how they might improve their footprints.
“The badges are fun, it’s just a personal challenge and a great way for us to reflect on what we’re doing in our everyday lives but then there’s also some great links in there if you need some tips on how to help,” said Public Information Officer Patricia Spencer.
People can sign up for the beanstalk challenge on the lewis and clark library’s website.
