Police officers in Great Falls respond to hundreds of calls for service every day, from traffic stops to assaults. While they are enforcers, they are also members of the community.
The GFPD recently shared a photo on their Facebook page of officers Aaron McAdam and Stephanie Kazior that has now been viewed nearly 400,000 times. It has also received more than 730 comments, and been shared more than 2,500 times.
The two officers were dispatched to a report of a runaway. While they were at the home, the officers noticed there was no food in the house and learned the runaway boy had taken the family’s EBT card, leaving the family without a way to buy groceries.
Officers McAdam and Kazior went to the grocery store to buy the family some food - using their own money.
“Hopefully the more the community sees that, and the more they’re able to see what we aren’t just there to arrest their parents or just there to do the lawful things we do, we’re also there to help,” said Officer Kazior.
Officer Kazior noted that GFPD officers give of their time and money more frequently than many people realize.
