HELENA – St. Peter’s Health is sharing what’s new in 2019, from adding more providers to improving the billing process.

At Wednesday’s community forum at the hospital, which was open to the public, CEO Wade Johnson answered questions and touted their improvements, including adding 13 new providers last year.

He also said they’re sending out bills faster than ever before, at an average of 47 days. He said that amount of time is on par with other Montana health systems.

Perhaps one of the biggest changes is St. Peter’s new affiliation with University of Utah Health. He said that will allow them to utilize specialists from the out-of-state medical center, through telemedicine.

“We are continuing to recruit more specialists, or primary care providers to our community, we have been over the last year,” Johnson told MTN.  “Just made huge strides for our access to community of care, so people can stay closer to home.”

During his presentation, Johnson said they are also revamping the hospital’s parking lot by the end of the summer or early fall. They plan to add around 300 spaces and make the lot safer.
