HELENA – Before the end of the year, another person in the Big Sky state will become a Montana Millionaire.
This is the twelfth year the game has been ran by the Montana Lottery with the purpose of ensuring that one Montanan becomes a millionaire.
There are less than half of the 150,000 tickets that are still available for purchase and officials say this is fastest selling year on record with ticket sales up 33 percent.
“This is the fastest year ever. I would say they are selling like hotcakes but I’ve never seen pancakes fly off the shelves this fast,” quipped Montana Lottery Communications Director Jennifer McKee.
McKee says this is one the department’s favorite times of the year.
“We call it millionaire season because it really is really really fun,” said McKee, “It’s fun to watch Montanans get involved in this game it’s fun just to watch the winners come in.”
A Vaughn man claimed the first Montana Millionaire Early Bird prize for $25,000 and the next early bird drawing in on Friday December 14.
The big drawing for $1 million will be done shortly after all the tickets have been sold.
