HELENA – November 15 is America Recycles Day and to commemorate the event, 406 Recycling has announced that they’ll be providing electronics recycling for the residents of the greater Helena area.
In partnership with Good Samaritan Thrift Store, 406 Recycling will be providing computer, entertainment, and office related electronics recycling beginning Nov. 30.
The recycling events will take place on the last Friday of each month for six months.
Many items will be accepted free of charge with a suggested $10 donation to Good Samaritan, but items like like microwaves will have additional charges.
Owner Matthew Elsaesser believes electronics is an ever growing part of the waste stream that has both an environmental and personal security impact.
“It’s that diversion to put resources back in the economy with less environmental footprint but also peace of mind know that everything is being responsibly recycled,” said Elsaesser.
406 Recycling was founded earlier in 2018 from the staff of Helena Industries’ Big Sky E-Recycling program and the new company is committed to providing employment opportunities to veterans and persons with disabilities.
Elsaesser said his company currently provides electronics recycling in Gallatin County and provide collection for a variety of Helena area businesses and institutions.
406 Recycling have recycled more than 100,000 pounds of material since being operations earlier this year.
