HELENA – Downtown Helena was flooded by pirates, superheroes and princesses today for the Little Tykes Trick-or-Treat Wednesday, October 31.
Hundreds of people took part in the annual event sponsored by Downtown Helena Inc.
More than 80 businesses, from the Great Northern to Anchor Park handed out candy to the kids and decked out their storefronts in Halloween decorations.
The Lewis and Clark Library even dressed up the bookmobile to look like the Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter novels.
Families and business owners say the event is great because it gets people downtown and provides a safe, well-lit trick or treating experience for the little kids.
“It can be stressful at night trying to keep track of a kid in black costume running around,” said one parent.
Local Law enforcement would like to remind everyone to have a safe Halloween and make sure kids are visible for cars when out trick or treating tonight.
