HELENA – On Tuesday, Montanans celebrated the 50th annual Governor’s Conference on Aging by honoring and recognizing the state’s centenarians.

124 seniors ranging from 100 to 109 years old are registered in the state of Montana.

Tuesday, nine of them gathered in Helena. This year’s theme was Rock Your Age.

The event consisted of live music and a banquet.

There were also breakout sessions with topics like nutrition, Alzheimer’s, and long distance care-giving.

The event will end with a mini grant sponsorship giveaway to various communities to help with senior services.

Marjorie Trainor, a centenarian says “Everyone asks me. I really don’t have a secret. Through my whole life, just took one day at a time. And I’ve never been a person who thought much about age. Fortunately, I have been blessed with good health. It just happened.”

The 50th annual Governor’s Conference will continue tomorrow. It is open to the community.
