HELENA – Families visiting the Lewis and Clark County fairgrounds September 14-16 will have a chance to dig up the past and see life sized dinosaurs at Jurassic Quest.

Crews spend most of Thursday Sep. 13 assembling the animatronic dinosaurs and their set pieces to make sure that they are working in perfect condition once the doors open on Friday.

The family friendly event features interactive baby dinosaurs, walking dinosaurs, fossil digs and more.

Jurassic Quest public relations manager Johnel Acosta says that for him the best part of Jurassic Quest is seeing the kids interacting with the dinosaurs.

“They usually always come in a little timid and some are a little scared and once the baby dinosaurs come out or the walking dinosaurs,” said Acosta, “Tina our bay T-Rex is always a very easy one for the kids to fall in love with. You can see it in their eyes, the love for the dinosaurs grows.”

Acosta added that they work hard to make the event not only a visual experience but an educational one as well.

Jurassic Quest works with paleontologists to make sure that all the 80 dinosaurs are as true to their real counterparts as possible.

“All of our dinosaurs are painstakingly checked to make sure they’re as authentic as possible,” said Acosta.

Jurassic Quest will be at the Fairgrounds this Friday Sep. 14 from 3-8 p.m., Saturday Sep. 15 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday.from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
