HELENA – Helena College welcomed students with breakfast for the first day of classes for the 2018 fall semester.

This week students will be able to network with other students and faculty during the college’s week of welcome.

Events include a faculty dinner, ice cream social and games.

This year the college welcomed new associate dean of academic and student affairs, Sandra Bauman.

Helena College expects to see around the same number of students as last fall. The last 5 fall semesters had an average of 1,468 students enrolled.

Sandy Bauman, the associated dean of academic and student affairs says “We’re looking at all kinds of things. Currently there’s been some restructuring going on at Helena College and it’s just gives us a nice opportunity to look at everything we do here and see what’s working for students success and where those areas that we can improve. So that’s our plan for the year.”

Kirk Lacy is serving as interim dean and CEO through June of 2019.

Lacy was selected as interim dean following a search that resulted in two finalists. One of the two finalists withdrew from consideration.
