HELENA – St Peter’s Health is offering new parenting classes to prepare future and current mothers.

The eight-week course includes classes like pregnancy and postpartum nutrition and child car seat safety.

The classes give the opportunity for new and future moms to learn hands on and ask specialists for answers to common questions.

The classes offer a tour of the delivery floor and a discussion.

Registration is not necessary and the courses are free. You do not have to be present to every class.

Jaime Larese, the Manager of Wellness and Community Outreach says “We really want to bring these classes to the forefront, so that everybody no matter their socio-economic status has the same opportunity to be prepared parents. We do encourage women to bring their partners if they have them, cause we think that’s definitely killing 2 birds with one stone.”

The course will be offered 4 times a year. Tonight is a two hour breastfeeding basics class until 7:30 in the SPH Education Center.
